Ao Manao
A bay inside the Wing 5 air base with clear water and clean sand, restaurants and air force guest houses. Show ID at the gate; the beach opens to the public during set hours.
Khao Chong Krachok
A small hill in the town centre with 396 steps up to a hilltop temple and views over the whole bay. Watch the resident monkeys and keep food bags out of sight.
Ao Prachuap and the seafront road
The town beach with a long promenade, pleasant for an evening walk and lined with seafood restaurants and cafés in a relaxed, uncrowded setting.
Ao Noi and Wat Ao Noi
A small bay north of town with a reclining Buddha cave at the temple and a very quiet rocky beach — good for escaping the crowds entirely.
Singkhon Pass
The Thai–Myanmar crossing at the country's narrowest point, about 20 km from town, with a market selling Burmese goods. Check its current status before travelling.
Prachuap fresh market
The town market sells inexpensive fresh and dried seafood plus the region's famous pineapples — a practical souvenir stop before heading back to Bangkok.

How long is Bangkok to Prachuap Khiri Khan?
About four hours for the 285 km via Rama II and Phetkasem, through Hua Hin and Pranburi. Long weekends can add an hour, so an early start gets you there before noon.
How does Prachuap differ from Hua Hin?
It is a genuine working seaside town rather than a developed resort — fewer people, noticeably cheaper food and rooms, and clearer water at Ao Manao, but no malls or nightlife. It suits travellers who want real quiet.
What is included in ฿5,000?
Fuel, tolls, the driver and bottled water. It is a flat one-way whole-vehicle price. Beach entry, accommodation, meals and ฿500 per night driver accommodation are separate.
Can we combine Prachuap with elephant watching at Kui Buri?
Yes — Kui Buri is about 30 minutes north. Stay a night in Prachuap and do the afternoon safari the next day, or vice versa. A daily charter gives the flexibility to arrange it either way.
What happens to the van overnight?
Either it returns to Bangkok and comes back at an agreed time with no accommodation charge, or the van and driver stay locally for ฿500 per night — much more convenient if you plan to visit Ao Manao, Singkhon Pass or Kui Buri during the day.
