Golden Triangle and Chiang Saen
If you stay on the Mekong at the Golden Triangle or in Chiang Saen, the van can collect you there. It is well north of Chiang Rai town, so the team quotes that pickup first, and an early start matters with the long drive still ahead.
Mae Sai border market
Thailand's northernmost district on the Myanmar border. If you stay or shop in Mae Sai before heading south, we can collect you there (an out-of-town pickup the team quotes first). The border crossing's status changes, so check it before you go.
Doi Tung and Mae Fah Luang Garden
The approach is a winding mountain road. If you stay up there or want one last visit before leaving, mention it at booking and the team plans the timing and quotes it first. Mountain driving is done in daylight only, for safety.
Doi Mae Salong
A Yunnanese hill village among tea plantations, reached by a steep, winding road. A pickup from the mountain means an early start and coming down in daylight; it is an out-of-town pickup the team quotes first.
Wat Rong Suea Ten (Blue Temple)
A deep-blue and gold temple close to the town centre, worth 30–45 minutes. It fits in before you leave town if your schedule is relaxed; check opening hours first.
Wat Rong Khun (White Temple)
Beside Phahonyothin Road south of town, right on the way to Bangkok. Open roughly 08:00–17:00; arriving at opening time means fewer crowds and an earlier start south. Dress modestly; admission is not included in the fare.

The White Temple on the way out
Wat Rong Khun stands beside Phahonyothin Road just south of town, right on the way to Bangkok. Visit in the morning and carry on — mention it at booking so the time is planned in.
Room for luggage and souvenirs
No airline weight limits or baggage fees: northern souvenirs, coffee, tea and big suitcases all come along. A Commuter takes roughly 8–10 large cases.
Split the journey over two days
It is a very long drive. Rather than doing it in one go, you can stop overnight in Lampang or Phitsanulok. Mention it at booking and the team confirms the total first; driver accommodation is ฿500 per night.

Should we take the Commuter, the Alphard, or fly instead?
For two to four people with light bags, flying from Chiang Rai to Bangkok is much faster. For a bigger group with lots of luggage or souvenirs, the 9–13 seat Commuter makes more sense, while the 6–7 seat Alphard suits a smaller group wanting extra comfort on a long drive.
Is the return trip the same price as Bangkok to Chiang Rai?
Yes. Bangkok to Chiang Rai and Chiang Rai to Bangkok cost the same: Commuter ฿13,500 and Alphard ฿22,000 per vehicle, one way, because our vans are based in the area and none has to drive up empty. You can book both directions together and the team confirms each date and time.
How do I book, and how much is the deposit?
Message LINE @kingtocar or call 084-709-3719 with your date, time, pickup, drop-off, passengers and luggage. The team confirms the vehicle and total, a 50% deposit secures the booking and the balance is paid on the travel day. Cancel at least 3 days before travel and the deposit is refunded in full.
Can we stop at the White Temple or stay overnight on the way?
Yes. The White Temple is right on the way out, so a morning visit works, and meal stops along the route are fine — mention them at booking. For a night on the way, such as in Lampang or Phitsanulok, driver accommodation is ฿500 per night and the team confirms the total before you book.
