Khao Lak Beach
A long sandy Andaman coastline in Phang Nga province, calmer than Phuket and lined with beach resorts. Waves are strong in the monsoon season, so check the warning flags.
Bang Niang Beach
The beach north of central Khao Lak, with a good choice of restaurants and hotels and an easy area for an evening stroll.
Police Boat T.813
A patrol boat carried inland at Bang Niang by the 2004 tsunami and now kept as a memorial; a short stop is enough to visit.
Khao Lak–Lam Ru National Park
Forested hills by the sea just south of Khao Lak, with walking trails and viewpoints. Check entry fees and opening hours before going.
Thap Lamu Pier
